Tradelossa is a proudly Mexican company that’s been in the logistics industry for 50 years, standing out for its world class quality standards and services. Specializing in heavy and oversized cargo, Tradelossa also offers rigging, M.R.O. supply chain and forwarding solutions all over Mexico, USA, and Central America. Overcoming every challenge, employing the experience and work discipline of its personnel, and making use of state-of-the-art equipment for the handling and transportation of pieces with unique weight and dimensions.

Following the events of the last 3 years, the automotive industry’s production lines are becoming more and more demanding. With the arrival of new and groundbreaking electric vehicles, Mexico, as one of the world’s leading auto parts manufacturers and exporters has found itself In need of intensifying its efforts in order to comply with the manufacturing demands set by the evolving market.

Tradelossa was invited to participate on a pretty special task: The full-scale relocation of an automotive electric battery manufacturing plant, making over 100 trips in a 9-day timeframe.

Within 24 hours of the request, the Tradelossa team went to their client’s facilities and got down to work and began the transportation of the entire equipment, machinery, and material from the existing plant to their new facilities through a 2-kilometer route on a heavily used highway.

This large-scale project would not be an easy challenge. For its success it was necessary to create a continuous transportation and unloading network with 24-hour availability over 9 days.

Even with the Holidays ahead Tradelossa team developed a game plan, starting operations on December 23 2022, and concluding on New Year’s Eve. Making use of the proper equipment and maintaining control and flow of all units to support the entire project, more than 50 units arrived at site, some of them, lowboy, dry vans, and platforms. Each unit was customized by Tradelossa engineering team to fit safely and easily into the various cramped areas in both plants.

One of the key steps to ensure the success of this challenging project was the application of operational guidelines with key staff whose main task was to guide and instruct each member involved in the different stages of loading, transporting, unloading, and storing parts over the course of more than 80 completed trips.

“Each part we hauled had unique characteristics that differentiated it from the others, therefore, each trip we made was unique with unique obstacles, no doubt it was our flexibility and adaptability that allowed us to complete so many trips in such a limited time frame”. Expressed Tradelossa head of field operations just a few hours after celebrating a new year with the competition of this ambitious project.

The achievement of this logistical feat led to the upgrade and capacity increase of one of the first and main electric car assembly plants in Mexico, strengthening the automotive sector within the territory, allowing the creation of jobs, and adding efforts to the fight for the conservation of our planet with the generation and use of clean energy.

We close this year of incredible challenges and great feats with one of our most particular movements of the month of December. The completion of the transportation of a 12.35 ton boat.

The cargo departed from the city of Los Cabos bound for Port Everglades, Florida.
The piece would be loaded in port by our team within the state of Baja California and taken to our yards located in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas. There it would be safely stored while the corresponding border crossing permits were completed.

For this particular operation we made use of a Lowboy platform, vehicle configuration that would be maintained even after its crossing to American territory where, our commercial partners would conclude the operation by delivering at the destination point:

Dimensions:
11.92 meters long, 4.70 meters wide 3.90 meters high and a total weight of 12.35 tons.

We would like to thank everyone involved in this closing service and on behalf of the entire Tradelossa family we would like to wish you a happy and prosperous holiday season and a happy new year.

Thank you very much for staying with us, we will see you in 2022!

We are proud to share with you one of our most interesting supply chain services performed during this year end.

Departing from the Port of Altamira, in the state of Tamaulipas, Tradelossa was in charge of transporting multiple shipments of steel beams to our customer’s facilities in Atitalaquia, a city located in the state of Hidalgo, a few kilometers from Mexico City.

Operations began a few weeks ago and was concluded after having made more than 100 trips through the Tamaulipas – Hidalgo route, thus covering more than 700 kilometers from one of the busiest ports in the north of the country, to the central zone of the Mexican territory.

Dimensions:

Beams with a length of 18 meters long.

Not every job requires ultra heavy lift equipment, but our logistics and operations team is always ready to handle demanding supply chain services.

Tradelossa recently performed the hauling a 245 tons transformer, Parting from the northern state of Nuevo León, Mexico, and delivered at one of the most important wind farms within the state of Coahuila, Mexico.

Our story begins in April of 2021, Tradelossa had the request of storing a transformer inside their installations at Apodaca, Nuevo Leon.

The cargo’s dimensions included 10.37 meters in length, 4.08 meters of width, 5.18 meters of height, and a total weight of 245 tons.

Tradelossa stored and secured the cargo for about 5 months, however, for this project’s scope hauling and rigging services were also requested, and so during the next month’s Tradelossa carry out with multiple visits at site and the different key points of the selected route.

Preparing the terrain and implementing multiple land and road modifications within the windfarm’s territory in order to prepare the installations for the cargo’s arrival, setting up a full program, permitting, and schedule for the Cargo’s delivery and rigging operations.

The component was transported using a 4.5 meter 12- axle + Deck hydraulic Configuration, (Six axles on front of the Deck and six axles on the back of the Deck).

This configuration allowed our team to perform the transportation of the 245 tons transformer through the northern states of Mexico, traveling 284 kilometers from point of departure to site point’s main access.

During our previous visit to the site point, Tradelossa engineering team realized that to access and carry out the cargo throughout the windfarm’s territory. The piece had to pass through 15 kms of steep terrain that could compromise the piece’s integrity.

With that in mind, our team of professionals designated Six Prime Movers for this sole project to perform the titanic task of moving uphill 245 tons throughout 15 kms of both irregular and steep terrain.

Once the cargo arrived at its designated point, our rigging team carefully unloaded the component and prepared the piece for its future installation and use in their installations.

With about 300 kms traveled all services and operations were executed within the period of three and a half days, making this project a complete success.

Accomplishing all our client’s expectations, and accomplishing all our company’s High-Quality standards.

The size and weight of a component can be deceiving, so it is always important to know all the details of the component to provide the best solutions in transportation and rigging.

So, our engineering and operations team worked together to complete the transportation of multiple transformers within the Bajio zone.

Dimensions

Each weighing 110 tons and over 3 meters high.

Each piece departed from the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon to our customer’s facility in Irapuato, Guanajuato.

Tradelossa’s scope included not only the transportation but also the loading and unloading of the components making use of our rigging equipment executing Jack and slide operations both at the departure site and inside our client’s facilities located within the state of Guanajuato.

The Mexican specialized transportation company, Tradelossa, completed the rigging of a 377-ton generator together with a 337-ton turbine for the renowned ”Tamazunchale” project.

Located in the city of Tamazunchale, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. ”Tamazunchale” is considered the largest combined cycle power plant in Latin America in its capacity to generate electrical energy.

Both pieces departed from Japanese ports and were shipped to Mexican ports and off-loaded to Tradelossa’s self-propelled modular equipment for transport to the combined cycle power plant.

Once on site, using a Gantry (550 tons. capacity) and two Strand Jacks (300 tons. capacity. each), both pieces were suspended seven meters in the air, moving the turbine for 54 meters along the facility, meanwhile the generator was moved for 36 meters. Additionally, Tradelossa made use of the Jack & Slide system for transport inside the plant’s facilities.

Dimensions:

Turbine: 12.28 meters long, 4.1 meters wide, 5.00 meters high with a total weight of 337 metric tons.

Generator: 9.8 meters long, 4.86 meters wide, 5.9 meters high with a total weight of 377 metric tons.

The rigging operations of these two colossi required the experience and knowledge acquired by the rigging team were put to the test, performing the operations safely and with high responsiveness when faced with the climatic setbacks during the project.

The completion of this task brought enormous benefits to the energy sector in the northern region of the country. It is also important to mention that both the generator and turbine were the heaviest and largest pieces of equipment ever installed in Latin America, making Tradelossa the first specialized transportation company in Latin America to assemble these two giants.

We at Tradelossa work hard and transform every challenge into an achievement, during the month of May we were in charge of the hauling of two oversized and ultra-heavy presses.

Received within the port of Ensenada, Baja California, our customers approached us with the goal of moving these two ultra heavy components through the state of Baja California, departing from the port of Ensenada to their facilities within the city of Tijuana.

Making use of a 12-axle+deck vehicle configuration, both pieces were successfully transported to their destination.

Our engineering team realized prior to the start of the project that the main route’s challenge was the fact that the port of Ensenada was not designed for the regular reception of oversized components, therefore, the width of the exits through the booths was smaller compared to the cargo’s dimensions.

With the help of two of our trucks, Tradelossa decided to make a rounding maneuver through a dirt road properly adapted for the safe crossing of the pieces and successfully crossing the booth inside the port of Ensenada.

Arriving safely and complying with the tight deadlines and schedule established by our customers, Tradelossa arrived at our customer’s facilities in the city of Tijuana, Baja California with both components.

Dimensions:
8.29 meters long, 4.97 meters wide, 3.82 meters high with a total weight of 230 tons.

8.94 meters long, 4.26 meters wide, 3.6 meters high. With a total weight of 165 tons.
